In the ancient world, objects of natural beauty were often associated with the gods and in some cases, venerated in temples. Today, these pieces are collected for their aesthetic, decorative and sculptural qualities. 'Maker Unknown' explored the artistic and sculptural qualities of natural artworks and compared these to the manufacture of man-made antiquities, blurring the distinction between art and nature.

We wished to create an unusual exhibition designed to surprise and delight. To encourage visitors to walk around and discover objects around every corner, we create a maze-like structure of columns. Some columns, like light boxes or tinted-glass columns were strategically placed to draw people into the stand.
