We designed Timeline, an exhibition at Frieze Masters. Sixty-five objects were placed along a 4.6 billion year timeline to illustrate the continuity of matter, materials and ideas. The stand was very well received by the public and the vetting committee: it was awarded best stand in the antiquities category and was busy all hours of the day.
One of this project's most important considerations was the layout of the stand. A subtle balance needed to be struck between making the timeline element obvious without it becoming overpowering. After discussing a number of options with the gallery, we decided that the best way to create a continuous, engaging journey for the visitor was to eliminate all corners from the stand, creating a sweeping corridor with an entrance and an exit.
